not because I’ve changed my mind. she’s not ready. not vetted fully, not right for this country, the list goes on…

i’m really taking this down because I don’t want to attack palin. you can make up your own mind about her.

however, do take into mind the kind of decision-making that went in to her selection. she wasn’t selected because of her skills (there are many more qualified folks than her out there), she wasn’t selected because of her knowledge of energy-related issues (ever heard of dick cheney? halliburton? good picks…), and she wasn’t picked because of her experience (i don’t need to explain this, do i?).

she was selected because john mccain doesn’t trust you, the american people. john mccain thinks that Palin (her gender, her NRA status, her whatever) will play to a demographic that will help him win this election.

it’s not country first, it’s win first.

now, john mccain is doing the same sort of political maneuvering to which we’re accustomed. blame the media, blame the angry left, blame anyone but the folks who made a bad decision. sound familiar?

if you want four more years of the decision making that has you earning less money while the richest folks get even more wealthy, then vote for john mccain.

if you want four more years of the decision making that has you paying $4/gallon for gasoline to fill up your 8 mpg SUV, vote for john mccain.

if you want four more years of the last eight years, vote for john mccain.

eight is enough.

“Let me be a clear as possible,” he told reporters after speaking briefly at a Labor Day BBQ here. “I have said before and I will repeat again, I think people’s families are off limits and people’s children are especially off limits. The available evidence now suggests that she 1) tried to have an ex-relative fired from his job for personal reasons, something that was clearly inappropriate, and perhaps illegal, though possibly understandable in human terms, 2) fired a state official for not himself acting inappropriately by firing the relative, 3) lied to the public about what happened and 4) continues to lie about what happened.
